Tracie Hayes is an artist from Charlotte, NC who recently moved to Chicago. She graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with degrees in studio art and biology.

She is currently working with the Echinacea Project, an ecology lab at the Chicago Botanic Garden. Her experiences in ecology heavily inform her art. Tracie’s work considers the ecological address, the vulnerability and stability of ecosystems, the process of ecology, and the communication of scientific findings. She works with various media, including wood, hemp, thread, paint, and rock.
