Allison (Hales) Ellingson is an artist based in Chicago working primarily with textiles and the social fabric. 

She received a B.A. from St. Olaf College (2002), a Master of Divinity from McCormick Theological Seminary (2007) and an M.F.A. (2015) in Fiber and Material Studies from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.  Her participation in the FIELD/WORK Residency marks the end of a three year hiatus from art during which she made two human beings.
