Arts Administrator internship
The Evanston Symphony Orchestra, a community orchestra which performs at Pick-Staiger, has received a $2,000 grant from the Illinois Arts Council to fund a Youth Employment Intern position.
Basic grant requirements:
-Grant is for work to be completed between Jan 15 and Sept 30, 2025-Individual must be able to count Illinois as a regular working, academic or living address-Individual must be 14-22 years of age at time of hiring
Responsibilities:
Primary work will involve updating and consolidating two current databases into one new system. Currently ESO has a ticketing database as well as a CRM database for fundraising and communications to subscribers, orchestra members, patrons and donors. Our plan is to move all data into one system that will handle both ticketing and all CRM functions.
Preparation required for migrating to this new system:
-Removing duplicate records in the CRM that result when ticket data is imported-Creating household records for spouses or partners-Deleting inactive records that have no changes or activity since being imported-Working with orchestra personnel managers to identify all orchestra members, their instrument, year they joined ESO and other pertinent data-Ensuring that orchestra members are householded with spouses/partners for accurate donation history
As time allows, additional responsibilities may include:
-Assisting the General Manager with day-to-day tasks (e.g. box office, social media, concert production)-Attending concerts and events to assist as needed-Reviewing ESO’s website to propose ways to consolidate and streamline as well as to make more user-friendly
Qualifications:
-Experience with data base management-Proficiency with computer programs and online applications, including spreadsheets
Pay: $15/hour.
Working hours are flexible, Monday thru Friday. Concerts are on Sunday afternoons.
