Screen printing/painting studio in Rogers Park
About the space, formerly the Charles H Kerr publishing company focusing on labor movements and social justice. For last 7 years has been home to Screwball Press and for last 3 also Crush Entity press/studio. Steve from screwball is hanging up the squeegee so there will be a studio space available Jan 1. Ideally an artist with existing serigraphy/screen printing practice will take of advantage of space but it is also perfect for a painter or other visual artist. Space is approx 500 square feet of private space across 4 adjoining rooms. Access to shared bathroom, washout room and exposure unit if needed are also available. About me, I’m a Chicago artist and screen printer. My first fuck abouts with art were via graffiti in the mid 90s and then studio based practices via higher learning. I got into screen printing at NIU around 2003 while there getting a BFA in painting. I’ve exhibited nationally and internationally. Currently my work is repped by Elephant Room Gallery. I’m also a member of the Chicago Printers Guild. In summary, like a shit stained butterfly I am in a suspended state of emergence. Blah blah blah, more self aggrandizing mumbo jumbo.
