Wardrobe/ Wig Runner-- Goodman Theatre

JOB TITLE: Wardrobe/ Wig Runner

REPORTS TO: Wardrobe Supervisor

FLSA Status: Full-Time, Non-Exempt

HOURLY RATE: $28.60 per hour

LOCATION: 170. N Dearborn St., Chicago, IL 60601

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Goodman Theatre seeks a Wardrobe/Wig Runner with strong wardrobe skills and experience with wigs and hair to run shows in either of our theatres, as assigned.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prep and preset costume pieces
  • Assist actors with changes and costume handoffs
  • Assist actors with hair styling
  • Maintenance that could include costume and/or wig maintenance
  • Develop and document the costume and/or wig run tracks through tech rehearsal process

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

  • 2-3 years of professional wardrobe experience
  • Working knowledge of backstage procedures and performance etiquette
  • Wig and hair styling experience
  • Sewing skills desirable
  • Organized and punctual
  • Able to work collaboratively as a team member and maintain a positive, supportive attitude in high pressure situations
  • Model behavior and values consistent with Goodman’s Community Agreements and furthering Goodman’s IDEAA (inclusion, diversity, equity, anti-racism and access) goals.
