Wardrobe Overhire- Goodman Theatre

JOB TITLE: Wardrobe Crew

REPORTS TO: Wardrobe Supervisor

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

DATES: 6/5/24 - 8/4/24 with possible extension through as late as 8/11/24

COMPENSATION RATE: 22.00 per hour

LOCATION: 170. N Dearborn St., Chicago, IL 60601

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Goodman Theatre seeks an additional Wardrobe Crew person to join our team on our production of Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil. The crew will work together with actors on all changes and will clean and maintain all costumes.

This is an hourly position for the duration listed above. Housing and travel are not provided.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Prep and preset all costume pieces

• Assist actors with all changes and costume handoffs

• Launder and maintain all costumes

• Through the tech process develop and document the entire run track

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

• Working knowledge of backstage procedures and performance etiquette

• Basic sewing skills

• Wig and hair styling skills desirable

• Be well organized and punctual

• Work collaboratively as a team member and maintain a positive attitude in high pressure situations

• Model behavior and values consistent with Goodman’s Community Agreements and furthering Goodman’s IDEAA (inclusion, diversity, equity, anti-racism and access) goals.
