Job Summary
We are seeking a versatile and passionate Voice & Piano Teacher to join our private lesson faculty. This role is ideal for a multi-instrumentalist who enjoys working with students of all ages and levels and is excited to gradually build a consistent roster of students. The teacher will work closely with our Front of House team to grow their schedule and retain students over time.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide engaging and developmentally appropriate private lessons in both voice and piano
- Work with the admin team to build and grow your student roster over time
- Maintain clear and timely communication with students and families
- Contribute to student retention through consistent lesson planning, goal setting, and encouragement
- Participate in studio events such as student recitals, workshops, etc.
- Arrive punctually and prepared for each scheduled lesson
Required Qualifications
- Proficiency in both vocal technique and piano performance
- Experience teaching private lessons to children and/or teens (ages 5–18)
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to teach in-person at one or more Music House locations
- Must pass a background check
Preferred Qualifications
- Degree in Music, Music Education, or equivalent experience
- Comfort teaching 4-5 year old students
- Interest in long-term growth with Music House
Compensation
- $30–$33 per hour of instruction, based on experience
- Opportunities for annual rate review and advancement within the organization
Schedule and Growth
This position begins with a flexible, build-your-own schedule model. You will collaborate with the Music House admin team to develop your teaching schedule based on student demand, your availability, and program placement. Many of our teachers grow into 10–20 hour/week roles through consistent teaching and participation in performances, camps, or at-school programming.
