Background: The Simple Good is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization with a mission to connect the meaning of ‘good’ across the globe to empower youth to bring positivity into communities through art and discussion.

Position Overview: If you love teaching art expression, appreciate social-emotional learning, and are fluent in Spanish, we are looking for you! Our Teaching Artists are motivated to inspire strong, empathetic communities. The successful candidate will have experience working with youth and demonstrate an understanding of how art can be used to build social and emotional skills.

Skills & Duties:

Demonstrate a passion for the causeLead small group activities that are age-appropriate, fostering an environment where students are actively engaged in meaningful learning experiences that enhance both their social and academic developmentPrepare and adapt materials and lesson plans to meet the needs of studentsBe ready to implement lesson plans and lead weekly classes using TSG's curriculumMaintain a daily attendance logBe punctualComplete assessments and rubrics in a timely mannerDemonstrate a willingness to promote The Simple Good at events and when asked about the organizationAttend required meetings and professional developmentAssist with the execution of the Final Student Art ShowcaseBuild relationships with parents, children, and school administration/teachers

Requirements:

Must be fluent in SpanishPreferably enrolled in or completed a degree from an accredited college or universityAt least 2 years of experience working with children in a classroom settingExperience working with students from diverse backgrounds and varied grade levels, particularly in low-income communitiesMust meet background clearance requirements, including fingerprinting

Job Types: Part-time, Contract, Temporary

Salary: up to $25.00 per hour to start
