Theater Camp Counselors (June 10-July 30)
Harand Camp of the Theatre Arts, an established musical theater and activities camp for children 7-18, is looking for Camp Counselors (age 18+) for its 69th Season (June 10 – July 30, 2024). Strong applicants should have previous experience working with kids and the ability to teach or assist in a variety of activity areas.
Highest-Need Areas: Technical Theater, Costumes, Art, Sports, General Games & Activities, and Male-Identifying/Non-Binary Counselors for "Boys" Hall. (We are also seeking a Music Director / Accompanist for our Second Session, July 7-28, 2024. Inquire at harandcamp@gmail.com.)
Counselors must be able to work & reside on campus at Carthage College in Kenosha, WI for the duration of our camp season, June 10 – July 30, 2024. Full room & board provided!
REQUIREMENTS:
- Camp Counselors must be 18+ (out of high school!)
- Excellent with kids of all ages
- Ability to instruct activity classes in variety of areas
- High energy + flexible in a fast-paced environment
- Strong leadership + team-building skills
- Positive attitude, common sense, and sound judgement
- Sincere desire to be a role model for children
SKILL & INTEREST AREAS:
- Technical Theater – Scenic/Other (Set Building/Lights/Sound)
- Costumes (alterations, construction etc)
- Arts + Crafts / Fine Arts
- Swimming / Pool Games (Certified Lifeguard or WSI a plus)
- Sports & Fitness (Soccer, Basketball, Volleyball, etc.)
- Performing Arts (Singing, Acting, Dancing)
- Video / Photo
- General Games and Activities
OTHER DETAILS:
- Assistant Counselors (18+, just graduated high shool) - $1400+ stipend (based on experience)
- Counselors (18+, at least one year out of high school) - $1500+ stipend (based on experience)
- More with experience or special certifications)
- All receive full room & board at Carthage College (single or double dorm room and 3 meals a day, valued additional $450/week)
- Travel Stipend available for those coming from outside Illinois/Wisconsin
- Seven-week commitment (including orientation)
