Summer Camp Counselor (Seasonal)

The Old Town School of Folk Music is seeking responsible day camp counselors to supervise, lead, and plan age appropriate activities for 6-11 year olds while maintaining a safe environment for campers. Counselors must be able to attend mandatory staff training days in June and commit to the entire duration of the camp (June through July).

Duties

• Responsible for oversight of assigned campers.
• Responsible for coordinating daily activities (such as crafts, games, special events, etc.)
• Assist in the set-up and break-down of camp each and every day.
• Ensure safety of all participants in indoor, outdoor, and field trip environments.

Qualifications

• Prior experience working with children in a camp setting preferred
• Must be 18 years of age or older
• Must be available to work 23-40 hours per week between 7AM and 6PM, Monday through Friday

Physical Requirements

Perform all physical aspects of the position which include interacting with children at floor level, physical education activities such as running, jumping, etc., lifting equipment as needed (up to approximately 20 lbs.), and participating in outdoor activities

This position is strictly seasonal.
