Spring Internship

We are currently seeking applicants between the ages of 18 and 21 for the Spring Semester, 2026.

The Ukrainian Institute of Modern Art offers seasonal internship opportunities in the marketing, curatorial, and development departments. As an intern, you can expect to gain practical knowledge in museum work, including marketing, collection management, exhibition production, and general nonprofit management practices. Course credit can be arranged.

Background in one of the following fields is preferred, but other relevant skills and experience are welcome.

Development & Grant Writing / Collections Management & Archivist Internship Spring 2026

Our ideal candidate possesses a collaborative spirit and the ability to embrace the flexibility of working with many team members. Strong ability to digest new information quickly and apply it productively with attention to detail. Excellent communication skills and ability to multi-task and work independently. Demonstrated interest and passion for museum practices and arts-related work. Excellent organization and interpersonal skills. Knowledge of Google Suite. Access to and proficiency with Adobe InDesign or other design software is a plus. Applicants must be between 18 - 22 to be eligible for a paid internship position.

Eligibility

We can offer a limited number of part-time, paid spring internships to current undergraduate sophomores, juniors, and seniors. UIMA provides students with academic credit whenever eligible. Check your university’s academic credit requirements or speak with an academic advisor or career service representative for more information on how to enroll for course credit.

Physical Demands and Work Environment (Archivist Internship)

Mobility required for the care of the artwork includes the ability to climb ladders, lift up to 50 lbs, stand for long periods of time, handle and examine delicate objects, and perform tasks that require bending, kneeling, squatting, pushing, pulling, and reaching above their shoulders.
