Social Media Consultant (PT Independent Contractor)
Location: Hybrid (Streeterville)
Compensation: $20/hr. This position is expected to work between 5 and 10 hours a week.
Company: A private Movie Memorabilia collector with a focus on vintage film, Golden Age classics and a niche of Women Behind the Camera during the silent film era.
Job Description:
We are looking for a highly motivated and passionate Social Media Consultant to join our team. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in social media management, combined with a love for vintage films, particularly Golden Age cinema.
The Social Media Consultant will be responsible for managing and growing the collector’s social media presence across multiple platforms. This includes creating and curating engaging content, scheduling posts, and maintaining a consistent voice and tone that resonates with vintage film enthusiasts. The role will also involve writing blog posts for movie-related forums and blogs, ensuring that content is aligned with the collection’s mission of celebrating and preserving classic cinema.
Responsibilities:
- Social Media Content Creation: Develop, write, and schedule engaging posts for social media channels to promote the collection and vintage cinema in general.
- Community Engagement: Respond to comments, messages, and direct inquiries, fostering positive engagement and building a community of vintage film lovers.
- Content Strategy and Execution: Plan and execute social media campaigns that align with the collection’s goals and initiatives, including special events or film highlights.
- Blog Writing and External Promotion: Contribute to movie blogs and online forums related to classic films, helping to extend the collection’s reach and visibility.
- Monitoring Trends and Analytics: Stay up-to-date on the latest trends in social media, vintage cinema, and film-related content. Analyze post performance using insights to refine strategies for engagement.
- Content Calendar Management: Maintain a content calendar to ensure a consistent and steady flow of posts across all platforms.
Requirements:
- At least 1 year of experience in social media management.
- A strong passion and knowledge of vintage film, particularly Golden Age cinema and Turner Classics.
- Excellent writing and communication skills with an eye for detail.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Basic graphic design skills for creating engaging social media visuals (using tools like Canva, Adobe Spark, or similar).
- Familiarity with analytics and social media insights to track engagement and performance.
