Sculptor
We are seeking a skilled Sculptor to join our fabrication shop, specializing in exhibits, exhibitions, and live experience projects. This role involves creating three-dimensional scenic elements, props, and structures using a variety of materials, including foam, clay, wood, and resins. The ideal candidate has a strong artistic background, attention to detail, and the ability to bring creative concepts to life through expert sculpting techniques.
Key Responsibilities:
Carve, mold, shape, and finish sculptures to meet design specifications and artistic direction.
Work with various materials, including foam, clay, wood, fiberglass, and resins.
Interpret and execute design concepts, blueprints, and 3D references to create high-quality sculptures.
Utilize both traditional hand-sculpting techniques and modern fabrication methods, such as CNC carving and 3D modeling.
Apply finishing techniques, including painting, texturing, and sealing, to achieve the desired aesthetic.
Collaborate with fabrication team members, designers, and project managers to ensure artistic and structural integrity.
Meet project deadlines while maintaining high standards of craftsmanship.
Qualifications & Skills:
Proven experience as a sculptor in exhibits, theater, film, themed environments, or similar industries.
Proficiency in carving, molding, and finishing techniques with various materials.
Strong ability to interpret design concepts, blueprints, and 3D references.
Experience with CNC carving and 3D modeling software is a plus.
Excellent attention to detail and ability to work within tight deadlines.
Ability to lift and manipulate large sculptural pieces as needed for fabrication.
