Job Status: Part-Time

Rate of Pay: $18 - $20/per lesson (30 min lessons)

Position Summary

We are seeking a positive, skilled and motivated Private Piano Instructor to provide weekly lessons to students. Lessons take place Sundays 12pm-3pm and Mondays 3pm-8pm.

Duties & Responsibilities

Provide weekly lessons to students of all ages and abilities. Assess student skill and music knowledge during initial meeting and provide a balanced program of technique, repertoire and music skills. Instructors are required to attend performing arts training and meetings. Maintain communication with students, parents and Northbrook Park District staff.

Position Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in music or music education or equivalent experience and have at least 1-2 years of experience teaching students at the beginner, intermediate and advanced levels. Possess strong communication skills for working with students who range from young children to adults. Have effective time management skills to ensure lessons are on time and be highly organized to keep track of any changes to the weekly schedule.
