Photography Intern
The LHA Photography Intern focuses on gaining valuable experience
as a commercial or product photographer. Photographers are
responsible for photographing property for all sales (approximately
60 per year), in preparation for printed catalogues, online catalogues,
and all other promotional materials. The Intern works with the
photography department, managers, and design team to prioritize
projects to be completed.
The Photography Intern is a paid position and many students receive
college credit for their participation in the program.
The internship presents an opportunity for students and recent graduates
who have studied Fine Arts and other related fields to gain practical
work experience in the auction business, gain relevant skills, and
provide support to varied functions of the business.
RESPONSIBILITIES • Work with graphic designers, operations team, all departments,
directors and regional offices to meet strict deadlines when
photographing property
• Work with department directors and design team to develop
new and exciting catalogue cover images, page concepts, and
ads
• Ensure the quality of images meets company standards
• Edit images daily via Lightroom and Photoshop as property is
photographed
• Upload images to inventory database daily and check for errors
• Update websites with new images as photographed and edited
• Ensure all images are ready for press, organized, and available to
design team
• Prepare images for catalogue production as schedule dictates and
communicate with photography department and design team

EDUCATION &
EXPERIENCE
• Bachelor's degree in Photography
• Interest in art, art history
• Current portfolio
• In-house, studio-setting experience required with monolights,
drop-out white
• Extensive knowledge of cameras, lighting, composition and
photo styling
• Experience shooting art, product and still photography, including
fine jewelry and gemstones
• Proficient in Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop
SKILLS • Strong retouching skills are essential
• Ability to meet goals effectively against critical deadlines

• Able to work efficiently and independently
• Good team player and problem solver
• Works well under high pressure; able to meet tight deadlines
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to write and speak clearly and effectively
• Ability to lift, move, pack or unpack, box and crate or uncrate
property weighing up to 35 pounds and occasionally more than
50 pounds
• Ability to regularly use hands and fingers to handle property and
use of arms to reach; employee is regularly required to sit, climb,
stand, walk, crawl, crouch, kneel, stoop and balance
• Specific vision abilities required include: close vision, distance
vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and
ability to adjust focus
