Personal Care Assistant for C6 Quadriplegic, Video/Podcast Producer

Looking for a friendly, honest, and reliable person to work with a man (50's) with C6 spinal cord injury (paralysis) as a personal care assistant 2-3 mornings per week.

This is a part time position. Client needs assistance getting out of bed and into his wheelchair in the morning to get ready for work.

Duties include:

Stretching legs/range of motion

Transfer client in/out of wheelchair and bed (pivot transfer, will train if you do not have prior experience)

Bathing and Toileting

Dressing and Grooming

Light Housekeeping

Meal Preparation

Past experience is not necessary. Will train.

Person needs to be willing to learn how to assist the client and provide care that gives client dignity and independence.

This position has been suitable for students in healthcare or rehabilitation wanting to learn to work with people with disabilities, and also for artists who would like their days free.

**Preferable to live near Lakeview, public transportation is available nearby.
