Part-Time Creativity/Art Educator for Jewish Afterschool
The Institute for Jewish Enrichment is creative, empathetic learning, rooted in Jewish texts and driven by children's questions and ideas.
We're looking for a part-time art teacher (really, anyone who loves children! no teaching experience necessary!) to maintain our art studio, prep materials, and work alongside our classroom teachers to help children make projects. Our art assistant will also make materials for classrooms environment, e.g., paint backdrops, draw black and white line drawings of Torah stories, design play spaces. Three times/year, we put up a giant display of children's projects, and our art assistant will provide color and design expertise for these public displays.
The ideal candidate with be familiar with Jewish practices, know the Hebrew alphabet, be committed to Jewish diversity, and have experience working with children.
Must be available at least Mon/Wed/Thurs 2 - 6 PM during the school year. Position is for 15 hrs/week. Long-term, full-time employment available for the right match.
