Musical Theater Teaching Artists Needed / The Stage School

The Stage School is currently seeking qualified Teaching Artists in singing, drama or dance for our upcoming fall session.

Instructors will teach children ages 4-6 or ages 6-16. We are seeking to staff multiple sessions / programs, as well as looking for Teaching Artists available to sub during the term.

At The Stage School, students study drama, singing, and dance. Material has a musical theater focus and each session ends with an end of term showcase or performance. Students are grouped by age with limited class sizes.

Teaching Artists are responsible for directing our end of term presentation and preparing students for performance, as well as teaching fundamental skills to beginning and intermediate level performers throughout the term.

PROGRAM DATES

The Company (Ages 6 – 16)

We are seeking a separate teaching artist for each discipline: Singing, Drama or Dance.

• Saturdays, September 13 till November 15
  • 10 AM – 1 PM or 2 PM – 5 PM

• Sundays, September 14 till November 16
  • 1 PM – 4 PM

The Premier Program (Ages 4 - 6)

We are seeking a single teaching artist who can lead introductory exercises in singing, drama and dance.

• Saturdays, September 13 till November 15
  • 9 AM – 10:30 AM / 10:45 AM – 12:15 PM

• Sundays, September 14 till November 16
  • 1:30 - 3 PM

After School Classes

• Mondays – September 15 - November 17
  • 4:00 – 5:00 PM: Creative Drama (Ages 5-8)
  • 5:15 - 6:15 PM: Sketch Comedy/Improvisation (Ages 9-14)

• Wednesdays - September 17 - November 19
  • 4:00 – 5:00 PM: Musical Theatre Dance (Ages 5-8)
  • 5:15 - 6:15 PM: Broadway Workshop (Ages 9-14)

Location: Park Ridge, IL

Compensation is $40-50 per hour of teaching time (based on experience).

Skills & Qualifications:

Ideal teaching candidates will

• be motivated, energetic, and organized
• have a strong professional background in musical theater.
• have experience teaching children ages 4 - 16
• have experience in rehearsing and directing or choreographing performances
• have a passion for teaching life skills to young people through the performing arts.
