Museum of Contemporary Art- Fall 2019 Internships

The Museum of Contemporary Art Internship Program welcomes students and recent graduates who wish to broaden their education and professional experience by working and learning in a not-for-profit museum. Various MCA departments offer experiential education in a challenging, hands-on environment. Although paid internships are not offered, all applicants are considered for a stipend based on their application materials. As an MCA intern there are many benefits such as free or reduced admission to member museums across the country, curator-led tours of MCA exhibitions, discounts to MCA performances and talks, MCA Store discount, Marisol discount, and the opportunity to meet with professionals in nearly every department of the museum.

For the fall 2019 term the following departments will have internship opportunities:

Accounting, Collections & Exhibitions, Communications, Development, Human Resources, Learning, MCA Store, Performance, Photo Archives, Special & Rental Events, and Public Practice.

The Internship Program consists of a 3 month commitment with a minimum of 16 weekly hours, specific projects and daily assignments in the department, and participation in departmental meetings, special events, and staff lectures.

• Essay that is no longer than 500 words and answers the following prompt: What is the role of museums in today's society?
• Writing Sample (only for Development internship)
