Marketing & Operations Fall Intern
Description:
The Marketing & Operations Fall Interns will be given the opportunity to work and learn from different areas of museum management to develop their personal marketing vision and communicative writing skills. The Fall intern will report directly to the Assistant Manager of Programming & Development. Through a minimum of two workdays per week, interns will work with museum staff to market IMSS’s collections, events, and programs. At the end of the internship, interns will have a product and/or implementation to add to their portfolio. Furthermore, interns will be given the opportunity to execute their work in a real operational setting.
Hours of Work: 140 hours, 10 hours/week
Hours per day: 10am-3pm (Time is flexible to account for intern schedule)

Responsibilities:
Assist with marketing related to programs, tours, education, events, and development including making promotional digital and print media, including social media content and researched blog posts for IMSS’s website.Collaborate with Museum staff from different departments to develop both educational and promotional social media content. Assist with the house managing of after-hours events and programming.
Requirements:
The expected internship period is September – December of 2024. Start and end dates are flexible to accommodate schedules. Applicants must be willing to commit to at least two full days per week, however, adjustments may be made to accommodate work and school schedules.

Compensation:
Internships are unpaid, but academic credit or funding may be available through your school.

Projects:
Collaborate with the Museum staff and other interns to develop educational and promotional content for items in the Museum’s collections, including but not limited to: social media content, researched blog posts.Collaborate with the Gift Shop staff to develop promotional copy for social media and item-feature articles. Create social media assets for Museum exhibits and programming, including but not limited to artist interviews and informational posts about upcoming exhibits.
