BOOKS, BRUSHES & BANDS for EDUCATION
Position Title: Managing Director
Overview:
The Managing Director will supervise and oversee the general operations of Books, Brushes, & Bands for Education, reporting to the President of the Board of Directors. This is a transitory position that will grow into an Executive Director role.
Responsibilities:
- Supervision of programming and development staff to include delegation of tasks, conducting weekly meetings, timesheet reviews, and approval.
- Providing monthly reports to the Board of Directors on the direction and progress of organizational activities.
- Oversee the creation and implementation of BBB4E general programs, including Book Brigade, music programs, Read Across the Region, etc., including recruitment and interviewing for teaching staff, volunteers, and interns.
- Oversee and develop policies and procedures for staffing, volunteers, and program implementation with support from the Board of Directors.
- Development of a 3-year marketing plan to include social media outlets and proposed budgets. Advertising efforts will focus on both programs and fundraising activities.
- Development of an annual budget with support from the Board of Directors.
- Assist with development related tasks as needed.
- Other duties as assigned, as they relate to the daily organizational activities.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree minimum in a related field such as business management, communications, arts administration, or education. Master’s preferred.
- 2 years minimum experience in program development.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. Bloomerang and QGiv are helpful.
- Must be willing to learn QuickBooks.
- Must have demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision and make critical decisions for the good of the organization.
Position Conditions:
$20 per hour, 30 hours per week, starting. Upgraded to 40 hours per week, full-time, benefits eligible after 90-day probationary period at $41,000 annual salary.
