Volunteer with Mana Contemporary's Open Studios
Every October, the Chicago Architecture Center hosts Open House Chicago, a free citywide festival that offers behind-the-scenes access to architecturally, historically, and culturally significant spaces. Mana Contemporary is a regular stop, recognized for its striking industrial architecture.
This year, in collaboration with the Monira Foundation, we’ll be opening our doors for OPEN STUDIOS. Visitors will have the chance to:
- Explore over 50 artists’ studios and learn about their creative processes.
- Experience exhibitions throughout the building.
- Meet the Mana artist community and discover the work shaping Chicago’s cultural landscape.
To make this event possible, we are seeking volunteers to help welcome and guide visitors.
We are seeking 5-6 total volunteers for the following roles:
- Greeter & Exhibition Guide – Welcome guests, share information, and introduce exhibitions and studios.
- Building & Studio Guide – Lead groups through the building and highlight featured works.
- Social Media Connector – Encourage visitors to follow Mana’s Instagram and share information about our facilities.
- Photo/Video Documenter – Capture photos and short clips to be used in Mana’s promotional materials.
- Exhibition Attendants – Support and engage visitors in the permanent exhibition on the 5th floor. We are seeking two volunteers for this exhibition.
Event Details
- Location: Mana Contemporary, Chicago
- Orientation via Zoom or in person (depending on your availability): October 13th or 14th, time tbd
- Date & Time: October 18th, 10am - 5pm
- Volunteers Needed: 5-6
