Music House is seeking a teaching artist grounded in Hip Hop culture to join a school residency team. We are looking for an artist whose creative practice and cultural knowledge reflect the African American roots of Hip Hop, spoken word, movement, and storytelling traditions.
Teaching Schedule
7th Grade Hip Hop Arts — 8:45–9:45

3rd Grade Music & Movement Collaboration — 11:50–12:50
Includes:
- vocal & instrument performance
- dance & movement
Kdg or 2nd Grade Music and Dance Foundations — 1:15–2:15

- vocal & instrument performance
- dance & movement
The middle school class centers Hip Hop movement, rhythm, spoken word, music production, and storytelling. Younger grades engage in rhythm, ensemble work, and movement-based music activities that connect to the overall program.
We are seeking an artist who brings
· Deep understanding of Hip Hop as a cultural movement, not only a dance style
· Knowledge of African American artistic lineages connected to Hip Hop
· Experience working with youth in schools or community settings
· Ability to build a supportive, inclusive space for student voice
· Strong collaboration skills with other teaching artists
