REPORTS TO: Guest Services Manager

FLSA Status: Part-Time, Non-Exempt

COMPENSATION RATE: $18/hour

UNION STATUS: IATSE Local 750

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Guest Services Associate is an integral part of the Goodman Theatre’s front-of-house department. This position is responsible for operating the information desk located in the Goodman lobby with a focus on providing customer service to all patrons and visitors. The Guest Services Associate greets and proactively anticipates the needs of guests and offers thoughtful solutions. This is a part-time position that requires regular evening and weekend hours.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Greet and welcome all guests in a professional, friendly and engaging manner
  • Identify and anticipate guest needsRemains knowledgeable of all Goodman accessibility offerings.
  • Answer guest inquiries about Goodman services, facilities, box office, and surrounding area
  • Accurately log and deliver packages, mail and messages
  • Follow all security and safety policies and procedures
  • Have knowledge of emergency procedures and assist as needed
  • Complete the opening & closing procedures of the facility
  • Perform other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Customer service-related experience in a high-volume setting preferred. Hospitality experience a plus.
  • Must possess sophisticated verbal and communication skills
  • Computer literate in Microsoft Office applications
  • Highly responsible and reliable
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to work stationary and active shifts depending on the type of shift (performance/non-performance)
  • Ability to submit shift availability for at least three shifts per week (with at least one of those falling on a Saturday or Sunday performance)
  • Ability to work with a flexible schedule (mix of day and evening shifts)
  • Capable of moving deliveries of up to 50 lbs.
