Guest Experience Associate

The Guest Experience Associate (GEA) team is knowledgeable about the Museum and all it has to offer. This position reports to the Operations Manager and works collaboratively with the Learning and Engagement team. The GEA is responsible for welcoming and encouraging guests to engage in Intuit Art Museum’s exhibitions and programs. Working with the exhibitions and collections team, the GEA helps ensure the safety and security of the artwork on view. The GEA also supports events at the museum. Additionally, the GEA team provides feedback to other teams about the museum's exhibitions, events and facilities to help improve the overall guest experience.

Key Responsibilities

Complete trainings about the museum, collection and exhibitions on view.

Demonstrate knowledge of artwork, exhibitions, building policies, and safety guidelines.

Greet and welcome guests.

Facilitate conversations with guests and create points of access to exhibitions and artwork.

Direct guests through gallery spaces and assist with questions.

Communicate with guests to ensure gallery policies are followed.

Sell admission and events tickets, as well as promote and sell memberships on-site, perform cashiering, cash-handling, and other daily tasks.

Respond to phone calls and forward them to applicable departments when necessary.

Monitor museum galleries and common spaces to ensure the security and safety of artworks on view, as well as the facilities.

Communicate with exhibitions and collections team if any damage to artwork occurs.

Communicate with operations team if any facility-related issues occur.

Communicate gallery observations & feedback.

Assist with gallery upkeep and opening/closing procedures.

Assist with setup for gallery events and public programs.

Attend operations briefings and staff meetings as needed.

Other duties as assigned.

Working Conditions

Comfortable speaking to individuals and groups of people.

Ability to remain stationary for extended periods.

Ability to lift and move light furniture.

Occasional late evenings may be required for events and exhibition programming.

Skills & Qualifications

Knowledge of or interest in art.

Familiarity with digital devices and personal technologies.

The ability to create a welcoming and engaging environment.

Excellent communication skills and sensitivity to a variety of guest needs.

Exceptional observational skills.

Ability to be responsive to a variety of situations and guest needs.

Availability to work flexible hours, including evening, weekend shifts, and holidays

Compensation & schedule

This is a Part-Time, Hourly position compensated at $18 per hour

Part-Time Guest Experience Associates are scheduled 3-4 days each week for a maximum of 28 hours per week.

Flexibility for day, evening, weekend and select holiday availability is required.
