The Riverside Arts Center is seeking an individual with in-depth experience in the visual arts, particularly in contemporary art, to direct its Freeark Gallery and Sculpture Garden. Expertise in the Chicago arts community is a plus, as the majority of artists we work with come from this area. We need someone who takes initiative and is ambitious, articulate, passionate and able to work within an artist-driven, community-driven not-for-profit organization. Other requirements include an MFA, MA or equivalent experience, basic office skills, writing skills, art handling and art installation, and the ability to interact with the public. Experience in working with Word Press is a plus. This is a part time position that will average between 15 hours a week. The hours are flexible, and much of the work can be done from home. One day a week in the gallery is required, from 1-5pm.

Expertise in the Chicago arts community is a plus, as the majority of artists we work with come from this area. We need someone who takes initiative and is ambitious, articulate, passionate and able to work within an artist-driven, community-driven not-for-profit organization. Other requirements include MA, MFA, BA or BFA in Studio Arts, Art History, or applicable experience in organizing, installing, and promoting exhibits, as well as a strong writing and verbal communication skills. Flex Space is intended to be a space that promotes community engagement in the arts and encourages hands-on projects to a diverse population. Applicants should have social media skills, experience in working with Word Press is a plus. This is a part time position that will average between 14 and 15 hours a week. Two to three days a week working in gallery required from 1-5pm with some admin duties as described in job description.
