Framer / Woodworker

DESCRIPTION:

We are seeking a part-time, experienced woodshop framer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in the picture framing industry, specifically in cutting and joining pre-finished and custom-milled picture frames. A strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently will contribute to the overall success of our projects.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Operate all framing equipment proficiently.
• Meet all framing deadlines.
• Perform surface preparation, including cleaning, sanding, and priming surfaces to ensure proper paint adhesion.
• Follow safety guidelines and use protective equipment to ensure personal safety and prevent accidents in the workplace. Ensure that others are not exposed to hazardous materials or dangerous conditions.
• Clean up after completing a job, including disposing of used materials and leaving the work area clean and organized.

BASIC REQUIREMENTS:

• Proficient in using all framing equipment and power tools, such as saws, drills, and sanders.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Excellent dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
• Strong reading comprehension and the ability to follow written instructions.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to perform basic math calculations and measurements.
• Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
• At least two years of picture framing experience.
• Experience in surface preparation, including dent repair, scratch removal, etc.
