Luminarts was created by members of the Union League Club of Chicago as a separate 501-C-3 foundation. Luminarts has grown over the years but has always stayed true to its mission and vision: sponsorship of young Fellows in a cross-section of the arts including visual arts, classical music, jazz, creative writing, architecture, and fashion.
Over the past 10 years Luminarts has had consistent administrative and board leadership giving the organization both organizational and financial stability. Luminarts has recently completed a successful ten-year anniversary campaign to provide generous funding for the Fellows. Through the years, Luminarts has awarded over 200 life-changing fellowships that have led to sparkling careers for many young adults, who are now employed as professional musicians, artists, and other artistic fields throughout the world.
