About the Role
Lillstreet Art Center is seeking a highly organized and proactive Executive Assistant to support our CEO in leading our community-driven arts organization. The Executive Assistant (EA) will perform a broad set of responsibilities for both the Lillstreet Art Center and Robbins Management (the building) . This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a creative environment, is passionate about customer service, and has a knack for strategic project execution.
About Lillstreet
Lillstreet Art Center is a vibrant creative hub housed in a historic 40,000 sq. ft. building in Chicago. Serving over 2,000 students each term, Lillstreet offers classes across seven art departments: Ceramics, Metalsmithing, Textiles, Printmaking, Painting & Drawing, Digital Arts, and Kidstreet youth programs. The center also features two gallery and retail spaces, an on-site cafe, and hosts a yearlong Artist-in-Residence program that supports emerging artists annually.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the Executive Director’s events, meetings, and any other misc. duties
- Provide administrative support including document preparation, filing, and maintainance
- Serve as a trusted liaison, facilitating clear, timely communication between the ED and internal and external stakeholders
- Anticipate the ED’s needs and proactively resolve issues, ensuring seamless day-to-day operations
- Support key projects and strategic initiatives from inception to completion
Required Skills:
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational and time management skills;
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment;
- Ability to work with management, customers, and students;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
- Personal vehicle is a plus.
Qualifications:
- Background in arts administration, nonprofit organizations, or creative industries is a strong plus
- Passion for the arts and interest in supporting a mission-driven, community-oriented organization
Compensation and Schedule
The Executive Assistant hourly range is $28 - $32 depending on experience. The Executive Assistant will work between 20 to 25 hours a week. The EA should expect to be on-site 5 days a week.
