Part-Time Executive Arts Director

Do you have 20-25 hours a month and a passion for promoting the arts and helping artists explore and share their talents? The ACA, a non-profit created to advance the arts in Addison and its surrounding communities, seeks an Executive Arts Director to organize and set up unforgettable events and experiences in performing and visual arts. This is an independent contractor position, not an employee of the ACA. Benefits are not included. Compensation $25 per hour.

What You’ll Do
As the Executive Arts Director, you’ll source talent, schedule, promote and facilitate our exhibitions, be the liaison between Addison Trail High School and the Village of Addison and manage our small gallery and office during the school year (August through May).
Key Responsibilities:
● Source artistic talent and schedule gallery exhibitions
● Facilitate and introduce exhibits and events
● Create a promotional strategy based on goals determined by the board of directors
● Assist with press release writing
● Manage and grow ACA membership
● Collaborate with the ACA Arts Administrator Administrative Responsibilities
● Representing the ACA at periodic Community Advisory Meetings (PR, Committee, Village or other Art Community Meetings)
● Collaborate priorities with the board president
● Report progress to the board and event financials to the treasurer
● Attend monthly board meetings
● Facilitate gallery and office operations (permits, forms, schedules, etc.)
● Collaborate with and be aware of docent schedule
● Report any security concerns

Where You’ll Work
This is a hybrid work-from-home and onsite position. Meeting attendance, office/gallery and event facilitation are onsite as scheduled. The office and gallery are on the grounds of the Addison Trail High School. A small theater adjacent to the gallery, village hall rotunda and outdoor village green gazebo host performing events.

● A board of six members, most frequent collaboration is with the president and treasurer
● Village committees, high school administrators and local artists, performers and organizations
● ACA Arts Administrator
