Who We Are

The Brainchild Collective (TBC) is committed to being a trauma-informed and trauma-responsive organization. We provide consistent and emotionally supportive classroom engagement to form enriching relationships with our students. Our educators are expected to commit fully to their students through consistent attendance and by ensuring qualified substitutes when unable to teach.

What You Will Do

  1. Program Leadership:
  • Lead and complete assigned programs, ensuring substitute needs are met from TBC’s sub pool.
  • Program commitments range from a few hours to 20+ hours a week based on availability.
  1. Classroom Instruction:
  • Deliver TBC’s in-school, after-school, and professional development programming in at least one discipline: Art, Dance, Leadership Development, Theater, or Improv Comedy.
  • Understand and apply learning standards, instructional practices, and SEL assessment metrics.
  • Promote SEL to foster empathy and equity in students.
  • Implement inclusive instructional practices.
  • Prepare students for end-of-session showcases and other culminating events if the program requires so.
  • Ensure consistent attendance and commitment throughout the program duration.
  1. Program Assessment:
  • Track student attendance consistently.
  • Evaluate student engagement through surveys: Start of Program Survey, Middle of Program Survey, and End of Program Survey. Communicate findings with the TBC administrative team to address areas of success, concern, and improvement.
  • Assess your own experience using the “Educator End of Program Survey.”
  1. Community Engagement:
  • Maintain a presence and professionalism at school family nights and community events.
  • Build relationships with fellow enrichment educators and the larger youth development ecosystem.

What We Are Looking For

  • Interest in social change and creating equitable classrooms.
  • Problem-solving skills, adaptability, and the ability to thrive in ambiguity.
  • Applicants with a car are preferred but not required.

Benefits as a Contractor

  • Freedom to accept or decline individual programs based on availability.
  • Compensation between $35-$50 per class hour, aligned with experience.
