POSITION SUMMARY:

The Goodman Theatre is seeking a Draper for the upcoming musical production of Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil. The overhire draper will work with the in-house drapers to ensure that the shop runs smoothly through all phases of costume construction, particularly alterations and quick rigging garments for a new musical.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Managing a load of alterations in addition to draping/patterning some builds if necessary. Prepping/rigging costumes for quick changes. Overseeing a small team of stitchers work for accuracy, timeliness and quality control.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

Previous draping experience required Experience with both modern and period garments desirable 2 – 3 years professional costume shop experience desirable Must be detail oriented and yet able to prioritize tasks in a brisk work environment.
