Community Engagement Manager

Now Hiring: Northlight Theatre is now hiring a full-time Community Engagement Manager. Reporting to the Director of Education, the Community Engagement Manager manages and administers all community-oriented programming for the theatre, including Arts for Everyone, Professional Training Programs, community partnerships, and accessibility initiatives. The position handles audience events such as post-show discussions, library events, partnerships with bookstores and community centers, and serves as one of the faces of the theatre. The Community Engagement Manager works with Artistic staff to develop artist relationships for community-facing events and to align community activities with the artistic programs.

Qualifications: Experience in administering arts programming with knowledge of, and passion for, live theatre and community engagement required. High degree of autonomy and independent motivation essential, along with excellent collaboration and communication skills, especially cultural consciousness and diplomacy. Must be able to coordinate multiple projects and be comfortable with public speaking. Experience in working with neurodiverse individuals, individuals with physical disabilities, youth or senior citizens a plus. This position requires transportation to multiple job sites across the Chicagoland area. Though not required, a personal vehicle and valid driver's license is recommended.

Compensation: Compensation range is $34,000 to $36,000, competitive with prevailing compensation for similar positions within the non-profit performing arts industry, and commensurate with qualifications and experience of the applicant. This position is non-exempt, and eligible for benefits including medical, dental and vision insurance and paid time off.
