Ceramics Teaching Assistant

Lillstreet Art Center is looking for Teaching Assistants for our Ceramics Department. Ceramics Teaching Assistants support our First-time and Beginning Wheelthrowing classes by assisting our teachers, answering student questions, and being a welcoming and supportive presence in the classroom. Our classes run for three-hour sessions, once per week, for ten continuous weeks.

We are searching for a Teaching Assistant for the Summer 2025 session of classes, running from June 16th through August 24th. Additional contracts may be offered for future sessions depending on availability and performance.

Requirements

• Must be available on Sundays from 10AM–1PM and Tuesdays from 6:30PM–9:30PM for the duration of 6/16–8/24
• At least two years of wheelthrowing experience
• Prior teaching or assisting experience preferred, but not required
• Responsive to email and in-person communication
• Excited to work with and compliment diverse teaching styles
• Enjoy working with people and eager to support a variety of learning styles
• Must be comfortable working with adults of all skill levels and abilities

Compensation

This is a contract position paid at $20/hr.
