Bridal/Alterations Customer Service
Bucktown Alterations Shop seeking full time staff member to join our team! Position Details:
Customer Service
Answers the phone whenever not in a fitting or with a customer
Greets all customers upon entryFinds/Checks out orders as customers come in for pickup
Fittings/Appointments
Checks that entry area/fitting room are swept/mopped
Handles all delegated spot cleaning, bag cleaning, dress cleanup as assigned
Helps with bridal and ready-to wear appointments as assigned
Makes sure all appointments are running within their allotted time whenever possible (including checkout time)
Hand Sewing
Helps with entry level hand sewing (snaps, buttons, hook + eyes) as time allows
Checks hand sewn items are sufficiently sewn (strength, thread color, appearance etc)
Workflow
Organizes/sorts the week of racks ensuring all items are in their appropriate rack and all items are labeled
Help with prep/check in for bridal and ready for wear
Shop Maintenance
Makes sure shop floor is swept and thread free each morning/afternoon
Makes sure front of shop remains clean mopped
Makes sure fitting room remains clean (tags thrown away, chaise vacuumed, cups storage)
Re-organizes back room threads/supplies 2X/week
Texts/Emails
Replies to customer service voicemails/texts
Helps with re-scheduling/cancellation emails
Person must be comfortable working in a fast-paced customer facing environment. This is a very hands on position but it is NOT a sewing apprenticeship. Sewing is not a required skill, but previous experience with sewing or aptitude is a plus
Must Have:-
-Prior experience in customer service
- Saturday availability is a must- Interest in learning about alterations
- Willingness to work on a team
- Comfortable working 1 on 1 with clients
- Detail-oriented
