Position Summary:
The Assistant to the Creative Director for Youth Programs plays a vital supporting role in the planning, implementation, and execution of youth classes, camps, and productions. This individual also serves as an assistant liaison to parents, supporting communication efforts and ensuring families stay informed and engaged. The ideal candidate is collaborative, organized, warm-hearted, and committed to helping young performers thrive in a creative, disciplined, and joyful environment.
Key Responsibilities
Youth Programming & Production
- Assist in the planning and execution of acting, musical theatre, and improvisational classes and camps.
- Direct or co-direct youth theatre productions as needed.
- Manage logistics for rehearsals, class showcases, and performances.
- Help coordinate technical needs: props, sets, costumes, and tech crews.
- Support day-to-day class operations, ensuring smooth transitions and creative flow.
Instructional & Staff Support
- Help onboard and support instructors, ensuring alignment with curriculum and values.
- Collaborate with the Creative Director on teacher scheduling and production assignments.
- Maintain classroom and rehearsal spaces, ensuring materials and supplies are in order.
- Assist in supervising volunteers during youth theatre productions and events.
Assistant Parent Liaison Duties
- Support communication efforts with parents, including reminders, schedule updates, and follow-ups.
- Help respond to family inquiries with clarity and warmth, under the guidance of the Creative Director or program leads.
- Be present at performances and key events to support parent engagement and represent the youth programming team positively.
Community & Representation
- Assist in promoting programs at schools, community events, and open houses as needed.
- Support outreach efforts to recruit new students and foster relationships with local organizations.

Recommended Pay Range (Hourly)
$18–$25/hour
Tier Breakdown:
Entry-Level (Limited experience): $18–$20/hr
Mid-Level (Some production/classroom experience): $21–$23/hr
Experienced (Theatre education background, production savvy): $24–$25/hr
Estimated Hours
15–20 hours per week, with flexibility for:
Up to 25+ hours/week during tech/show weeks or camp intensives
Fewer hours (~10/week) during off-season months (if year-round)
