Assistant Teaching Artist for UNLADYLIKE
Unladylike intersects between art, and mental health merging them to bring folks unique and engaging experiences. Unladylike has been operating for 6 years with its start in Chicago and even Detroit. Unladylike is growing and is looking to continue expanding its efforts. Unladylike seeks to promote authenticity, creativity and mental wellness through art and mental health events. Unladylike has curated over 15 art exhibitions including self-titled UNLADYLIKE Art Exhibition, as well as our popular cannabis-friendly Puff, Paint, & Pass sessions, and mental health workshops.
POSITION OVERVIEW: Unladylike is hiring a part-time teaching artist to independently instruct Puff, Paint, & Pass events. We are looking for someone to use sales and marketing/ social media skills to obtain audience participation. This position is commission based with artist receiving 60/40 split of ticket sales with opportunities to earn extra income. Must be willing to work nights and weekends and willing to be around cannabis smoke. We are looking for someone who is willing to grow with Unladylike with opportunities of hiring internally and promotion in the near future. Unladylike provides support and training to best set artists up for success. This position is an opportunity to learn event planning, production, learn technical skills, problem-solving skills, and networking. Unladylike is open to event ideas from the artist for future events.
Must have reliable transportation and be willing to travel. Unladylike operates as a pop-up and conducts sessions at private venue spaces and dispensary consumption lounges throughout Illinois. Based in Chicago
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Independently instruct 3-hour paint classes between 5-20 participantsSet-up and break down paint classesAssist with larger eventsCreate flyers using canva, develop marketing/ social media strategies, promote events
QUALIFICATIONS:
Acrylic painting skills. Unladylike uses acrylic paint to conduct art sessions due to its quick drying time. We are open to other mediums in the future. Teaching experiences strongly preferred. Must have an engaging personality and demonstrate patience, and passion for using art as a therapeutic expression.Social media/ marketing skills preferred. Experience with Canva, google office, Instagram, and tik tok skills preferred but not necessary.APPLY HERE
