Art Shepard/Facilitator
The Douglas Center in Skokie, IL is a day work program for special needs adults. Our unique “Art from the Heart” program offers a life-giving and enjoyable art experience to our participants. The program acts as both an art studio and a business where our artists can make much needed income through selling their art and craft works.
We are seeking a P/T artist facilitator with some experience in multiple art mediums that include mosaic art, greeting cards, jewelry, painting, drawing, printing, paper crafts and more. Bring your creative talents to the program and help expand the work our participants create. Training will be provided in selected mediums. Experience working with special needs adults is a plus but not essential. They are a delightful and interesting group of 23-75 year olds you will come to love just like we do.
We have art shows 2-3 times a year at The Douglas Center and sell our work in some retail stores in and around the Northwest suburbs.
