Art Handler - Driver - Warehouse - The Icon Group

The ICON Group, one of Chicago's oldest and most experienced art handling companies is looking to fill TWO positions: Art handler/Driver and Art Handler/Warehouse Associate. Each position entails shipping, packing, and installing fine art, artifacts, and antique furniture. Potential candidates would work with our current staff assisting museums, businesses, galleries, and private collectors with their art handling needs. The company runs a bi-weekly shuttle between Chicago and New York.

The Driver position would have potential for full time and overtime hours. Hours can be flexible as weekly and daily schedules will vary. Experience with over the road driving and willingness to work the New York City shuttle preferred. Over the road work includes extra hours and increased pay rate.

The Warehouse Associate is a full time position approximately 30-40 Hours a week M-F 8:30-4:30. Must be willing to be available for after hours/weekend dock activity (very rare). Duties include: All aspects of the dock shipping and receiving; ensure all property in the warehouse is properly labeled and packed; complete in house work orders: Viewings, inspections, re-packing etc, and facility related tasks. Must be willing to go out on the trucks when needed.

We are looking for candidates with a strong work ethic, positive attitude, and an interest in the varied challenges presented by the art services field. After initial probationary period Icon offers a group health insurance benefit and paid time off.

Skills & Qualifications:

• Fine Art background preferred
• Knowledge of various art mediums
• Art Handling/Preparator experience
• Work experience at a museum or gallery
• Registrar experience
• Must be 25 years old to drive company vehicles
• For Drivers: Illinois C-Class (Non-CDL) Driver's License with clean driving record*
• Experience driving a straight truck preferred
• Ability to lift 70 lbs

*Required to drive our company vehicles- in house training is available.
