Art Gallery Assistant Manager

L.H. Selman Ltd. is the largest and most respected auction house and dealer in fine glass paperweights. We are looking for an ideal candidate to join our small but energetic team and assist us with clerical tasks in downtown Chicago's beautiful Fine Arts Building on Michigan Avenue. Relevant experience is preferred but we will train the right candidate to become an expert in our field.
Schedule
Approximately 20 hours per week initially, weekdays, between 9am-5pm, on a regular basis.
Some weekend and night hours may be required, 3-4 times per year for special events.
The position is immediately available.
Tasks
-Manage social media presence on multiple platforms on a daily basis
-Create relevant content for social media platforms (text, photos, videos, etc.)
-Assist in writing and editing promotional and publication contents
-Field email and phone inquiries
-Process sales
-Package and ship artwork
-Maintain database records and lists
-Create reports and mailers
-Various administrative tasks as needed
Qualifications
-Bachelor’s Degree
-1-3 years of relevant experience
-Strong attention to details and problem solving skills
-Proficient computer skills, including Google Docs and Microsoft Office Suite
-Ease in learning new computer programs
-Professional verbal and writing skills
-Self-paced and able to meet deadlines
-Work well independently and as part of a team
-Must be able to lift, carry and push up to 25 pounds

Compensations
Salary offer is commensurate with qualification and experience.
Healthcare coverage is available upon successful completion of a 6-month review.
