After School Art Instructor

Unicoi Art Studio, a local children’s art studio in Roscoe Village, is seeking an art instructor for after school enrichment programs. Unicoi’s focus is to help elementary age children explore a wide range of creative mediums through knowledgeable working artist instructors and high quality materials. This is an extremely part-time position with potential for growth and availability. This position requires travel as classes are taught offsite at the schools. Class hours will take place between 2:30pm and 5:15pm. In addition, all instructors are required to be an available one weekend per month.

Position will transfer to day camp instructor from June through August.

Instructor responsibilities:

• Lead a 1-hour art class of up to 15 kids. Including getting them excited and breaking down the project to a step-by-step format.
• Create and fun and positive environment that promotes exploration and creativity.
• Set-up and clean up all materials required for creation of art project.
• Manage flow of class to allow for completion of project in allotted time frame.
• Patient personality
• Knowledgeable in Acrylics, watercolors, collage, sculpture techniques, and drawing.

Prerequisites:

• Must have availability Monday through Thursday afternoons.
• Preferred prior teaching experience
• Reliable transportation (Public or Private)

Wage determined by prior teaching experience.
