Designed to nurture the agency/autonomy/creativity and mobility of emerging artrepreneurs of ANY discipline, Chicago-based interdisciplinary artist and arts administrator Felicia Holman returns to CAC to present her visiting artist seminar, Crafting a Creative Career.

As a respected artrepreneurial resource within her intersecting communities, Felicia presents Crafting a Creative Career as an immediately-actionable knowledge sharing platform. In this workshop, Felicia nimbly combines real talk, case studies, and research to highlight such best practices and paradigms as:

  • “To Thine Ownself, Be True”: Communicating Internally
  • Using Your Empathy Muscle
  • Identifying Non-Negotiables
  • Building & Maintaining Relationships
  • Steering the Ship
  • Framing & Messaging

Attendees will leave Crafting a Creative Career with tools & approaches to implement in:

  • Enhancing personal/professional and organizational development
  • Confidently owning and prioritizing their respective practices/processes
  • Increasing authenticity & integrity in their audience/community engagement

Crafting a Creative Career is gleaned from Felicia’s recent professional development presentations for organizations and events including Illinois Humanities, Chicago Artists Coalition, Red Clay Dance Company and the sold-out inaugural Envisioning Equity Conference. Lifelong Chicagoan/artist and Prince "fam" Felicia Holman is an independent cultural producer/programmer and facilitator, as well as a co-founder of Honey Pot Performance. As both artist and producer, Felicia presents and supports innovative interdisciplinary art that engages audience and inspires community. Her HPP credits include The Ladies Ring Shout (2011), Price Point (2013), Juke Cry Hand Clap (2014), and Ma(s)king Her (2016). Recent projects include:
