Writers, Producers, and Performing Artists
safespace/Forum is seeking Writers, Producers, and Performing Artists to contribute to an ongoing magazine-style variety show that focuses on Chicago based culture and entertainment.
WHAT WE ARE
Safe Space* is a term coined during the Black Arts Movement of the 1960s-1970s as a means of providing a creative physical space in which to occupy and express marginalized voices.

safespace/Forum is a production company telling community stories through events, performances, and content that reflect the values of the Black Arts movement:
- claiming spaces for interaction within the community for performance, exhibition, and gathering
- depicting community members in art
- giving voices to community concern
Who You Are
Writer – You create dialogue, articles, scenes, prose, poetry, rhymes, flow- words of any kind, and are interested in contributing your written works for exhibition in video and print.
Producer – You are passionate about bringing together creative resources and people to tell stories, present information, and/or create a vibe.
Performing Artist – You perform original works and feel comfortable performing amongst a live audience and in a studio environment as talent.

Selection Process
Selected contributors will be contacted mid-late May 2024 to schedule Studio time at CanTVÂ

Compensation
Selected contributors will receive a stipend towards transportation, equity split distribution revenue, and footage of documented performances.
