Playfest at National Louis University
National Louis University's Master's in Written Communication program is seeking volunteer actors for staged readings of student work for their 2019 PLAYFEST. The festival will occur on Saturday, May 11, from 12:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. at NLU, located in downtown Chicago.
Between three and four rehearsals will be scheduled.
We are seeking actors to read for the following roles:
A STOLEN LIFE
written by Andrea Diaz (screenplay),
directed by Lucy Pabst
In the dead of night, a nurse steals away a newborn child from a teen mother. Eighteen years later, a tip from a stranger gives that mother, now a police detective, hope
she’ll reunite with her long-lost daughter.
SEEKING:
Male, African-American, 35-39 years old
Male, Caucasian, mid-40's
Rehearsals held at NLU - 122 S. Michigan Ave. during the week of May 6. Final details will be scheduled by a majority of cast availability.
THE TIES THAT BIND
written by Phyllis Chapman (screenplay),
directed by Johnny Garcia
A chance encounter of innocence, reckless abandon, and lustful longing, bonds two families to a secret shame in Greenwood, Mississippi. (Play contains a scene about rape.)

Rehearsals would be at the Redtwist Theatre - 1044 W. Bryn Mawr Ave. They would take place between April 22 and May 4. Final details will be scheduled by a majority of cast availability.
