Verum Ultimum Art Gallery is pleased to invite artists to interpret the theme 3 WISHES! This is a brand-new theme for an upcoming exhibition at Verum's brick-and-mortar location in Southeast Portland. Details follow about "3 WISHES" a juried exhibition to open in July of 2025.

Verum Ultimum invites artists to interpret the theme "3 WISHES," & the boundless notions this phrase conjures. The term summons ideas of something unattainable, but desired. It implies a degree of hope and movement beyond what is known with the magic of 3!

Artists are encouraged to enter work that is any interpretation of the call. The intention of the call is not to dictate or define the meaning but rather to provide a catalyst for thought and reflection (and to discover unique visions and interpretations). ALL MEDIUMS and modes of expression are welcome (from abstraction to illustrative, surreal, and beyond).

This theme embraces the very act of creating and the hope that carries (and delivers). Artists wield a degree of hope each time they begin a new project. How do you explore the unknown, the unattainable, or the desired through your work? Is the rule of thirds intrinsic to your process? Does the role of three show up in your work? Perhaps you use triadic color schemes to create drama or movement. Perhaps 3 figures, pillars, or forms continually show up in your work or composition? Does the very act of making propel or exorcise your deepest desires, longings, and hopes or a sense of something intangible or something that cannot be named precisely?
