NEIU TYPE
The Art + Design Department at Northeastern Illinois University (NEIU) is excited to announce our open call for NEIU Type, a juried exhibition celebrating the exploration of typography by Illinois Community College, Junior College and High School graphic design students.
We invite you to submit your workâanalog and digital 2D works (posters, digital, drawings and illustrations), books, projection mapping, sculpture, and web-based designs.
This is an open call for art and design that reimagines how the role of type shapes our understanding and impact of words and letterforms through aesthetics and conceptual frameworks.
The top three outstanding works will be recognized with up to $200 in Blick Art Materials store credit.
NEIU is a dynamic creative community that supports and advances the talents of artists, designers, art historians, and art educators. Our state-of-the-art Design facilities house a fully equipped computer lab, two Risograph printers with the largest collection of Riso drums at any university in Chicago, a letterpress studio, and a Fab Lab equipped with cutting-edge 3D printers, a large-format CNC router, multiple laser and vinyl cutters, and a large-format laser cutter; and all students are given free access to the Adobe Creative Cloud Suite for the duration of their education at NEIU.
