CALL FOR ARTISTS - MORE THAN MEETS THE EYE: Abstract Alternatives to Depicting Our World

Abstract Art comes in many forms from formal geometric simplicity to expressionism; from traditional materials to found assembled objects. The common thread running through this diverse category is the desire to depict more than what meets the eye, to go deeper than surface appearances.

Whether your art is inspired by the implications of quantum physics, metaphysics, spirituality, formal design or any combination we invite you to submit your abstract explorations of art to this national juried exhibition. 

Exhibition Juror: Sheri Rush

Submissions can include all media, including painting, drawing, collage, fiber, found-object assemblages, mixed media, sculpture, video, no AI generated work.

This is a juried exhibit. You will submit work through Submittable, will be selected by a juror and may or may not be included in the exhibit.

● All work must have been completed within the past 3 years and not previously exhibited at OPAL.

● Deliver artwork to the Gallery on the drop-off dates below. All media/mediums accepted except for AI generated work.

● ARTWORK IS LIMITED IN SIZE TO (42”) IN THE LARGEST DIMENSION, including frame.

● Sculptural work can be up to 24” high if it is freestanding but must be no more than 24” wide in the round.

● All work MUST be ready to hang, with hanging wire. (ABSOLUTELY NO SAWTOOTH OR STRING HANGERS WILL BE ACCEPTED)

● $35. for 3 works, $5./additional works submitted
