Light the Night Evanston Call for Artists
Light the Night will take place on the evening of Saturday, January 24th, 2026, with the installations in Talmadge Park available to be enjoyed and visited in a pop up art opening from 6:30 to 9pm . All installations must be removed from park by 11 pm on January 24th - all works left in the park will become the property of the City of Evanston.
Artists and community members are asked to submit a proposal for a solar or battery powered, artistic installation in Talmadge Park on Noyes Street. A panel will evaluate the proposals and select which will be realized. The proposal submission form will close on Wednesday, December 5th at noon and the notification for the selected proposals will be sent out by Friday, December 12th. Each selected artist will be given $150 for supplies. You will need to become a registered city vendor in order to receive the payment, further instructions for how to do so will be sent upon selection of the proposals. Only one payment will be issued per proposal selected.
*You do NOT need to be a professional artist to apply! Families, groups of friends, anyone who is a member of the Evanston Community is encouraged to submit a proposals.
