Exhibiting Artist Proposals for 2026 (Evanston, IL)

One River School of Art + Design is on an ambitious plan to "transform art education" across America and we are seeking exhibition proposals from emerging artists for our gallery space in 2026.

Located in downtown Evanston, our school is in a high-traffic neighborhood and our gallery is the first thing visitors see upon entry.

Our monthly exhibitions host not only artists, but artist collectives, partnering local schools, and non-profits!

There is no cost to submit your proposal.

Selection Process

All proposals will be reviewed by the One River School Evanston staff. A response to each person whose proposal is accepted will be emailed after the staff meets to review the proposals no later January 30th, 2026. As our school serves children from ages 3 and up, the artwork's content must be suitable for young audiences. Due to the amount of applications received, we can only reach out to those accepted, but will hold your information for future exhibitions.

Other Useful Information

• You must be able to transport and install your own work.
• Our staff will ensure you have a clean space prior to your installation.
• Two dimensional work is preferred as we do not have floor space.
• Our main gallery wall is 25' in length with an optional 25' of wall space in our hallway.
  
• Our staff can consult on layout and best installation practices.
• A reception will be held at an agreed upon time and date. Light refreshments will be provided.
• We provide tools and hanging hardware.
• The artist is responsible for promoting their exhibition
• The gallery space is open for view by appointment only

Artists must email evanston@oneriverschool.com with a portfolio of at least 10 images as well as an artist statement.
