COT 25/26 Season Chorus Auditions
Chicago Opera Theater announces auditions for 2025/26 Comprimario and Chorus Casting

The number of audition slots is limited and auditions will be granted based on submitted materials. If granted an audition, singers can expect to be assigned a specific time slot by April 17, 2025. The deadline to submit materials for consideration is 11:59pm central time on April 4, 2025. Any materials submitted after this deadline will be considered only if slots are available.
Chicago Opera Theater is committed to inclusive casting, and encourages artists of color, LGBTQIA+ artists, and artists with disabilities to apply.
We are currently auditioning for comprimario and chorus roles. We will only be hearing Chicago-local singers only at this time. Please confirm that your permanent residency is Chicago or the greater Chicagoland area when submitting your materials.
CHICAGO: Auditions will take place on April 24, 2025, between 1pm-8:30pm in Curtiss Hall, Fine Arts Building, 410 South Michigan Avenue, 10th Floor.
Vocal auditions will take place between 1pm-4pm and 5pm-8pm. Select singers will be called back for movement auditions the same day, from either 4pm – 4:30pm or 8pm – 8:30pm.
When submitting materials, please specify whether you prefer an afternoon audition with a potential movement call back at 4pm; or an evening audition with a potential movement call back at 8pm.

Audition Requirements: Bring at least 2 contrasting arias, preferably in Italian and/or German.
For movement callbacks, please wear comfortable clothing in which you can move freely, with appropriate shoes. Due to limited facilities for wardrobe changing, auditionees should feel free to wear movement callback attire to vocal audition.
